Stainless steel wire rope, sometimes called corrosion resistant, is generally used in applications that may degrade a bright wire or galvanized wire rope. The 6×37 class features more wires per strand and makes the wire more flexible than the 6×19. However, the added flexibility means the individual wires are actually smaller in diameter and reduce its abrasion resistance.
