These 1″ stainless ratchets are stronger than the 1″ thumb ratchet and have a higher break strength/work load limit. The type 304 stainless steel ratchet also contains Chromium which forms a passive layer when rust starts and stops rust from penetrating to the core of the material. The passive layer that protects the core of the material also repairs itself when scratched to form the passive layer again over the scratched area. Most 1″ ratchet straps use the RAT26 or RAT26SS for the assembly as it provides superior strength for a 1″ ratchet strap. Perfect for marine industry applications, the stainless steel ratchets are in stock and ready to ship immediately. Don’t forget to check out our other 1″ ratchets and cam buckles:

Ratchet Use Guidelines
According to the WSTDA (section 4.6.8): “When using web tie downs with a winch or ratchet, a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 wraps of webbing shall be wound on the winch or ratchet mandrel. Excessive wraps of webbing on the mandrel may reduce the working load limit (WLL) of the web tie down and may interfere with proper operation.”
